Proper AdWords Account Hierarchy

If you have a current AdWords account which you think needs to be structured better or you are creating a new AdWords account from scratch and are not sure how to structure it, then you should consider this simple guide below:

As you can see it is quite straightforward, however it can sometimes take a bit of thinking to determine which ad group “themes” are most relevant to your business. Another thing I will note, which is slightly off topic but still very important is that you should  create as many relevant ad group “themes” as possible when first creating a new account as this will usually improve the conversion rate and decrease the cost per conversion, amongst other things.

Benefits of good account structure:

  • lower cost per click
  • reduced cost per acquisition
  • greater reach
  • increased  brand awareness
  • more conversions
  • better quality scores

As this post was created for the adwords beginner I will not elaborate further, I will however note the things you should take away from this article:

  • keep your campaigns and ad groups themed
  • always be looking for new ways to expand your keyword lists to create more relevancy
