Spammers Selling Links on a Hacked Australian Site

Group of Eight ( is likely to be the only Australian website with Google PageRank 10. The extremely high PageRank is explained by the fact that it’s linked from the eight of the strongest Australian universities. For a while now this site has been a target of various organisations trying to get in, however this year it has been under repetitive attack of blackhat SEOs and hackers.

The site runs on a weak CMS platform with many security holes and is vulnerable to various types of attack. Hackers are now emailing SEOs offering links for sale in an email similar to this:

David D

if u interest,
we are selling links from ,

PAGERANK 10 ! US IP ! Yahoo DIR listed ! 9 years old ! > $2300 monthly / $6100 3 months / $15K yearly | link location (text link) :

PAGERANK 8 ! EUROPE IP ! Yahoo DIR listed ! 10 years old ! > $950 yearly- only text link

PAGERANK 7 ! CANADA IP ! Dmoz listed ! 18K Alexa ! 6 years old ! > $450 yearly – only text link

This sort of behaviour is not only harming the SEO industry but is also illegal. We are determined to do everything in our power to stop this type of activity and ask all SEO companies not to encourage this type of activity by paying for these links. The links are hidden and short-lived and if detected by Google spam fighting team you could damage your site in the process.
