Running to support Indigenous Marathon Project
Dejan SEO is proud to announce that we are participating in the Gold Coast Airport Marathon 2013 to help support the Indigenous Marathon Project.
The Gold Coast Airport Marathon will be run on the weekend of 6-7th July 2013 and the Dejan SEO team will be running in the 10km category.
Rob de Castella’s Indigenous Marathon Project is an annual initiative that aims to uncover long distance running talent and uses the marathon as a tool to change lives and promote a healthy lifestyle within the Indigenous community. The Indigenous Marathon Project selects a group of young indigenous men and women to complete the New York City Marathon annually. The team selected receives six months of intense training to prepare for the marathon.
The aim of the project is to use running to change lives and encourage healthy active lifestyles to inspire the nation. Participants also complete a Cert III in Community Recreation to instill a healthy lifestyle back to into their communities.
We think this is a pretty good initiative to build better individuals, better communities and a better Australians. We will be doing our best to shift our muffin tops, get our less than toned parts out from in front of the computer, and get some training in prior to the run in the attempt to actually make it across the line in one bit! Should you like to support us to help raise some much needed funds this great cause, we would be very appreciative.
Donations can be made to IMP’s Footprints fundraising program online through the Dejan SEO fundraising Marathon page. We are aiming to raise $2,000 for our charity; you can help us make it!
Thank you for your support.
