PageRank Update: August 2011

Google Pagerank UpdateDejan SEO team reports another surprise  PageRank update at Google. At this stage it’s not clear whether the update is localised to a limited number of results or rolled out globally. Last reported update took place in July after the June’s Twitter stuff-up by Google. This is now the  fourth update this year which is completely out of Google’s usual pattern. We’re currently testing to see how far in time this toolbar update reaches and will report beck as soon as we have the results.

The most recent page we found with updated PageRank is 25 July 2011 which means the toolbar PageRank data is very fresh indeed. Another page published on the 29th July did get PageRank value (zero) which indicates that the calculation ended for this page before it got assigned a new calculated value. One of the articles we published in August does not display PageRank value at all (n/a) which means the cut-off point happened somewhere between the last week of July and first week of August.

Is this a new trend for Google or just a coincidence? Please leave your comments below.
