Since April 2010 Google has been rolling out gradual improvements to Google Webmaster Tools. December update brings more visual information about search queries and page popularity data.

Top Search Queries

Search queries section now contains all filters in one place in addition to the date range selection. As you can see from the image above the new items are: search type pie chart, geo location pie chart and traffic cap filter pie chart. What used to be a tab for starred results is now a tick box. Query filter seems more elaborate and now allows for exclusion of terms which is excellent for removing branded terms from your research. Note that phrase export now downloads a lot more than it used to!

There are still many improvements Google could introduce to their webmaster tools however so far it has made a huge leap and has become a very useful tool in SEO research and phrase targeting.
