Google Webmaster Help Forum Moves to Google Products Platform

Susan Moskwa from Google announced a move of Google Webmaster Help forum to their new Product Platform.

Google Products Platform is promising better user experience and easier discussion. Marking the best answer (which Google considers one of the top priority features) will be available on the new platform. Apart from new design, webmasters will see new features including a “Me too!” and a +1 button.

The change has been scheduled for this week and will be available via this link. Google will place redirects in place in case webmasters hit the old URL from bookmarks.

One question I have though is, what happens to my profile and points I liked so much as I “grow” on the forums?

  1. You will keep your “Level”, but the bar which shows how far you progressed within that level is no longer visible. The new design is already active on the German Webmaster Central forum. I am not convinced about it, it’s a bit messy, I keep searching for stuff.

  2. Yes, though it’s a bit weird. Look for an entry you made in the forum. Then click on the drop down symbol next to the Reply icon in the upper right hand corner of that entry. There you’ll find an entry “Show activity”. Click it and save the URL as a favorite.

Haven’t yet found a better option.

  3. Wow that was weird. Plus most of my posts are not there probably because they haven’t merged all discussions yet. I’ve bookmarked that page so I can quickly access it next time, but Google’s UX team has much work still.
