Private Blog Networks – May Be Improved, But Still Far From Perfect

In the last article I wrote about  link placement I said that private networks have gotten better, obviously some people took that out of context. I said some of them got better, not perfect. I wouldn’t pay it much thought but as I was following up on the Bruce Clay – UBL thing I went to look at one of the statements made by Bruce on Facebook SEO group.

Watch Where You Place Your Links

Hmm, watch where you place your links… ha? Can be taken as a solid advice for many things, shady sites, shady content surroundings, even utilizing the right position to place a link on your own pages. Also, it can be taken in context of placing links where no one will find them, including search spiders.

New Design Options for Google+ Badges

We were waiting a fairly long time to have Google+ pages, there were quite a few disgruntled fellows regarding removal of brand name profiles before the implementation of pages, no one can blame them. After a while we got official badges for pages and our profiles that we could place on our sites, and they are quite good, interactive, help logged in users to place your pages or profiles in their circles directly from your website or +1 your page.

Google Webmaster Tools Improves Sitemap Reporting

If you have a large website it can be really hard to get all the pages fully indexed, especially the deep ones. That is why sitemaps are of great importance to our websites, large one especially. For faster indexing we submit our sitemaps to Google, so far the only things we could see in GWT included the number of URLs submitted in sitemap and errors.

Update of Top Search Queries in GWT

search queries average positionI never liked how Google shows top search query rankings in GWT, the average date is less than average quality wise, and I’ve always wanted a more precise answer directly from Google, as we said in our post on GWT rankings before, but with personalisation and all that, it’s not a great option as they could never match the changing results.

Wolfram Alpha

Wolfram Alpha is known as the math student’s best friend. It is a free online search engine that answers some of the toughest math questions. If a student was unable to derive a specific equation, this was the place to get it done for them.

Alternative Search Engines

As SEOs it is our job to explore every opportunity to increase our client’s traffic and CTR, concentrating only on Google search is not a smart idea. In my humble opinion SEOs that focus only on Google are not doing their job properly.

Talking Panda with Dan Petrovic

As we constantly discuss issues presented with our clients websites, mostly over Skype, it is very informative to go over Skype transcripts and find useful data. While I was searching for some info in one of our previous talks with Dan I managed to extract a nice deal of information about Dan’s view on Panda.

Search plus your world plus SEO world

The talk of the SEO and tech community for the past two days is definitely Search Plus Your World, the buzz is on, but why so much buzz? A regular user might find this update to be very useful and it’s not so hard to grasp how to use it and for what purposes.

Adsense Reporting with Adsense API and Chart Tools

For most webmasters, SEOs and SEMs life just got a little bit easier with Google Adsense publishing a short tutorial on adding custom adsense reporting using Adsense Api and Chart Tools.
