In a recent update of Google webmaster tools URL parameters have been moved to their own section under “Site Configuration”. The new layout features the Parameter, URLs monitored, Last configured, Effect on content and What Googlebot should crawl headings. Webmasters are able to Edit and Reset the settings as well as add new parameters.

After many months of no change Google decides to update toolbar PageRank twice in a row. First in June [1] and then in July. After a bit of investigation we found a post on Search Engine Round Table [2] which seems to clarify the issue.

In 2004 Rand Fishkin posted a slightly ‘conspiratory’ but fun question on SEO Chat forum about Google’s use of toolbar data. Rand later published EGOL’s opinion on SEOMoz giving it a fair amount of emphasis. Shame the reactions at the time were quite weak.
